We chased planes on New Year's Eve to be back in Ohio with J.
While I always love going to Oregon, this trip was bittersweet and reminiscent of our impromptu trip to Oregon this same time last year for my Grandfather's funeral.
I am grateful to my parents for making it possible to spend Christmas in Oregon. I am grateful for my extended family and the love we have for each other. With the exception of three cousins and J, all of us where there for my cousin's funeral. Which is impressive considering the size of my family.
I know that we have a Father in Heaven who loves us. I know that Christ lived, and died, and lived again for us. His birth is the reason we celebrate and it is because of Him that I will be with my family forever.
On the way home J asked if being in Oregon for the holidays was worth traveling with three kids by myself. I think it was worth it this time but I don't want to do it again.
